In sunny Puerto Rico, the Executioner will turn paradise into hell
The plane comes in low over the Puerto Rican resort, getting Mack Bolan close enough to notice snipers in the hotel windows and shotguns in the cabanas. He escaped his latest battle against the Mafia by fleeing to the Caribbean, but the tentacles of the mob stretch everywhere, and they are waiting for him to land. He rigs the plane for a collision course with the resort, bailing out just before impact and escaping into the jungle. He has only thirty bullets, and there are more than a hundred Mafia soldiers hot on his trail. He likes those odds.
It was in the jungles of Vietnam that Bolan was first dubbed the Executioner, and in the steamy forests of Puerto Rico, he will start a guerrilla war. He is one man against an army—but Mack Bolan is the deadliest man this island has ever seen.
Caribbean Kill is the 10th book in the Executioner series, but you may enjoy reading the series in any order.

Caribbean Kill The Executioner Book 10 edition by Don Pendleton Literature Fiction eBooks
One of Don Pendleton's classic novels of Mack Bolan's (AKA The Executioner) war against the Mafia. A nostalgic throwback to 1970s action-adventure novels, one that I missed during my initial Bolan fanboy phase of 1988.RANDOM STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS NOTES AND OBSERVATIONS (and noteworthy passages):
--"Latest personal side-arm, described as 'a big silver hawgleg' by official witness has been identified as a .44 caliber autoloader, 'the .44 AutoMag.' This latter weapon exhibits impressive accuracy at extremely long ranges and **should be considered equivalent in every respect to a big-game rifle**." Aahh, Mr. Pendleton (RIP), gotta love your ballistic hyperbole!
--So then, Mack Bolan was already 30 y/o (or in his late 20s) by the time he enlisted for Vietnam?!?! That's well above the average age of 19 for an American soldier serving in Nam.
--Wait a minute, Bolan also served in the Korean War?!?! This is the first I've read about this!!
Chapter 4:
--Um, *which* specific "chattergun?" Initially the author only mentions Bolan's pistols (Beretta and AutoMag) and mortar.
Beginning of Chapter 5:
"The scene inside those walls was straight out of War and Peace—with all the peace removed." Haha, nicely played, Don.
Chapter 6:
--"Bob Wilson, a homicide lieutenant from Miami." Any relation to a real-life Lieutenant B. Wilson of Anaheim PD?!?! (inside joke)
Chapter (??)
--"Bolan shook away the hopeless feeling and took a quick shower, shocking himself alive with alternating hot and cold water," hey, just like 007 in the Ian Fleming novels.
CENTRAL CASTING:
Josh Saviano as Books Figarone, Alan Arkin as Harold the Skipper Sicilia, Harris Yulin as Miami PD Lieutenant Wilson, George Kennedy as LAPD Capt Braddock, Willem Dafoe as Boston PD Inspector Trantham, Gianni Russo as Marty Corsicana, Joe Mantegna (or Johnny Depp?) as Leo Turrin, Andy Garcia as Hal Brognola

Caribbean Kill The Executioner Book 10 edition by Don Pendleton Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed the young guy standing up to the mob.
I was confused about how Eve got into trouble at the start. What was she doing I also didn't get who Sir Edward was. I would of liked to know what he did in the states with more specificity.
Interesting approach to revenge. But I don't approve of murder in any form, however when only the "bad" guys die and get payback there is something to be said about revenge. There was many ways in which the executioner gets even that were very interesting. But the Executioner does go a little outside of his right of "revenge". Little better than an average read.
Wouldn't call this one as good as its predecessor, but a solid hit all the same. This is where Bolan realizes he'll have to go it alone for his War Everlasting. This book also introduced the three characters that would become Able Team in the spinoff series, and so it's an important book for fans on that count alone.
I just cannot put these books down. I feel like Mack Bolan is my family and I m rooting for him, worry about him, laugh with him and cry with n for him. I was glad to see the series keep getting better n better, thought for sure after book 4 how many ways can this story line go, I mean you would think taking out the mafia in so many ways just thrills me. Well written and surprised each adventure have held my attention. And just think I still have several more books to read.
Go Mack Go
Usually the book after the first loses something, -but - Number 10 is as great, readable, as the first. Never got to read past 3, (hard copies) but now I can look for 4 - 9 at least, which should last till I'm 81. (All ready 80!) An exciting read! Thanks! More adventures I have to look for!
Rated 3.75 of 5
I continue to be surprised by this series. I had expected that each book in the Executioner series would be a unique story of Mack Bolan taking on the mob. It is, sort of, but it's also a much more sequential book, meaning it's very helpful to have read the first in the series to really pick up on what's going on.
Mack Bolan is a Vietnam war hero. He's one of the best sniper's in the military. He is able to detach himself from the human part of his emotions when killing a human target. But Mack has to return to the United States to bury members of his family who died as a result of actions taken by the mob. Bolan then goes on a one-man-army crusade to take on the mob.
Well...except that it's not entirely a one-man army. In this book Bolan recruits a number of vets, all who have had trouble readjusting to life in the United States in a time when Vietnam vets aren't particularly welcomed by society. Bolan, also known as The Executioner, puts together his own "Death Squad" to take on some major mob targets. Those targets are in the Los Angeles area. The Los Angeles police, aware of Bolan and his skills, prepares a special unit devoted just to the capture or otherwise stopping of The Executioner, learning, only a little too late, of all the other members of the squad who are now helping Bolan.
What makes The Executioner a little different from the 'average' serial killer, is that he works on a very special, moral code meaning that only the 'bad' guys get killed and good cops are to be avoided at all costs.
As one might expect from a book about an 'Executioner' - there is plenty of violence, but surprisingly very little gore. In today's literary world of flesh-dripping zombies and blood-sucking vampires, gore is pretty common. But this book is about a man with a strong morality on the one hand and a strong drive to right wrongs even if it means stepping over the morality line. Military training.
Author Don Pendleton does hit the reader over the head with this moral code in order to drive the point home that Bolan is a nice guy, even though he's killing people.
There is not quite as much non-stop action in this volume because we're setting up a whole crew of new people (those on Bolan's side, as well as the cops trying to stop him) in a new location. But once the action gets rolling it's fast and furious, as one expects from this sort of pulp action story.
I'm enjoying this series much more than I anticipated and it's easy to see why it has had such longevity.
Looking for a good book? If you are looking for some thrilling action with a strong central character but want the read to be quick and easy, then <em>Death Squad</em>, by Don Pendleton is just the ticket. But be warned ... you'll probably get hooked on the whole series.
